Why i don't use cloud services anymore

Most people who uses independent websites nowadays are hipsters, and usually they have the same line of thinking, but sometimes it’s good to say the obvious thing again and again.

In 2023 i made a decision to myself, to get out most of my stuff availabe on the cloud, and started to put my things in an external drive, close to me obviously, why ? Not only because of privacy reasons, the problem is because i don’t have enough money to pay those things, seriously, from what i used to remember, i payed a lot for google drive, onedrive and icloud, finally i got rid of onedrive in 2024, and im starting to getting rid of google drive aswell.

Because of onedrive, it made me getting out of windows, because by accident, i deleted my entire photos file, which wasn’t even connected on onedrive, só why it was there ? IDK, but that pissed me off, i was only paying for it because my phone company offered me this, now i just don’t want it anymore.

For Google drive, i actually never even used too much, the only reason im still paying it is for google photos, i’ve been using it since 2015, só there is a lot of stuff, stuff i didn’t even remembered, but it was there, i even tried to take it out, and managed to do it, but i created a little affection to the photos, and didn’t have the courage to delete everything yet.

I just use icloud because it’s kinda cheap, and apple is cruel to those who don’t use their cloud services, só im stuck with them for the time being, next article i will say why i use an iphone

In conclusion, store everything you have in external drives, at least you won’t have to worry if you stuff was taken out for some random cyberattack or some unfair copyright claim
